Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor April 29, 2022

The fourteenth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” came to a close on April 22 with the crowning of Willow Pill as the winner. Overall, I found this season very tiring. While I am happy with Willow’s...

Snow more Mr. Nice Sky

Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor April 21, 2022

In the opening line of T.S. Eliot’s most famous poem “The Waste Land,” he states that “April is the cruelest month.” While this is often taken out of context (as I am doing so here), I believe...

Colors, identity and adulthood

Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor April 15, 2022

Colors are something that we do not usually think much about, but would surely notice the absence of. When we are young, a lot of emphasis is placed on the idea of a “favorite color.” As we age, it...

Is Batman a furry?

Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor April 7, 2022

I would not categorize myself as a “fan” of DC Comics, or of DC superhero movies. While I am a Marvel fanatic, I have just never been into DC movies the way I am Marvel movies. Part of me wishes I...

Winter is the worst

Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor March 3, 2022

I have never been a particularly outdoorsy person. Growing up in northwestern Pennsylvania, I did of course spend a lot of time outdoors, but it was never really my thing. I did play outside with my siblings...

Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor January 27, 2022

While Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” may have the lowest ratings of any of their Disney+ TV shows, I have to say that it is one of my favorites thus far. Initially, I was unsure how they would make an...

“Monsters at Work” and post-grad anxieties

Kaleigh White, Opinion editor September 24, 2021

As a senior theatre major, I have been giving a lot of thought to my post-grad plans. When I do, I often end up paralyzed with anxiety and give up after an hour or so. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Broadway...

Kaleigh White, Opinion Editor September 3, 2021

The word “freedom” is one that we are often fed from the time we are born. With it, one usually refers to the way we live our lives — freedom to do what we want, with whom we want and how we want...

“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” reception and review

Kaleigh White, Opinion editor May 7, 2021

Spoilers: ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.’ Unlike my WandaVision review, this review will focus less on an examination of each episode and more on general plot points that make me feel things. After...

“The American Dream” is dead, and barely existed to begin with

Kaleigh White, Opinion editor March 25, 2021

When someone references “the American Dream,” one is often reminded of something we were taught about in elementary school. When learning about immigration in the third grade, we were taught that people...

A review of “WandaVision”

Kaleigh White, Opinion editor March 19, 2021

When WandaVision began, I was extremely skeptical. I immediately understood that it was referencing the popular sitcom “I Love Lucy,” but I did not understand why. Later, the episode became very reminiscent...

Kaleigh White, Opinion editor February 25, 2021

Of all the useless holidays we celebrate in America, I think Valentine’s Day is hands-down the worst of the bunch.  This is in comparison to holidays such as Drinking Straw Day, Dress Up Your Pet...

Why do independent artists charge so much?

Kaleigh White, Opinion writer February 6, 2021

Being an independent artist is hard. It is hard to be successful, actually make money, gain respect and be treated like a professional. Whether an artist sells artisan goods on Etsy, Facebook Marketplace...
