Allegheny’s Orchesis Dance Company performed three shows over the weekend of Nov. 10, 2011. The performances, held in Shafer Auditorium, ranged from jazz to tap to hip-hop. The entire performance is produced every year solely by students, who spend eight weeks planning and practicing the show. “In one word, Orchesis means expression,” said publicity chair Tracy Ann Walters, ’12. “The purpose is to give the opportunity to dances, and those who have never performed before, to work together and grow in dance.”
