Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday. I love love and everything associated with it. So seeing such cute outfits the day before Valentine’s Day was wonderful; it filled my heart! I love getting festive for the holidays. The variations of pinks, reds and whites were very nice to see in the wave of students walking through the Henderson Campus Center on Friday, Feb. 13. I tabled in the campus center from 11 a.m. to noon, looking forward to students stopping by and showing me their outfits for Valentine’s Day. If I had to rate everyone’s outfits this week, I would give everyone five out of five stars. One outfit that stood out to me was the one worn by Kamrynn Smith, ’29, who wore a red sweater with white hearts imprinted all around it. Underneath, she wore a white tee and deep blue jeans.

Students I talked to also thoroughly enjoyed the festivity from their peers. When asking Megan Seymour, ’28, for her opinion on Smith’s sweater, she said, “I think it’s so wholesome and so fun and so festive, and I love it.”
I asked some fellow students to comment on Smith’s outfit as well.
“The heart sweater was fabulous, the intricate woven yarn of the sweater really just brought it all together,” Kyle Ryan, ’26, said. “The fancy little hearts and the contrast between the red and the white were just impeccable.”
Hannah Tomer, ’27, said Smith’s outfit was “super cute” and rated it 10 out of 10 stars. Tia-Hue’ Johnson, ’28, echoed Ryan’s and Tomer’s thoughts.
“I love that sweater,” Johnson said. “I love how bright the red is.”
I agree with all of them. The sweater was a super cute piece to spice up the look and really make it feel like Valentine’s Day. I, personally, have never seen a sweater like that before, so seeing it in person was nice because the pattern is so cute!

Ella DeRose, ’27, wore a lovely red and white blazer with a white T-shirt and dark blue jeans. I think DeRose styled a piece of clothing — her blazer — that genuinely would stump me. That blazer makes me want to ask her questions like: To what events do you wear that article of clothing? How often do you get to wear it? Are there pants that match? So many questions for such an eye-catching piece of clothing. It’s not even that it’s a “crazy” piece of attire. I just personally know I would struggle to style it and rock it as DeRose did!

Similar to DeRose, Cora Miranda, ’27, wore a fairly “calm” outfit but added a little accent of Valentine’s Day to really make it pop. She wore a red sweater over a white tee and wore blue jeans to tie it all together. Her jeans specifically caught my eye; they are a very appealing style that hang at the ground. The jeans were a deep blue with large pockets or patches attached to the sides. Although simple, Miranda’s outfit was charming and stylish.

Two Allegheny students, Dree Zeiszler, ’26, and Kenzie Hughes, ’26, also wore dashing outfits that emphasized the colors pink and red. Hughes wore an array of pinks with a white skirt that flowed nicely, really complementing her figure.

It was a great choice of bottom for her outfit. The pale pink sweater with the richer pink shirt underneath was really nice.
Liberty Rickenbach, ’28, loved Hughes’ outfit.
“I think it’s a 10 out of five, but I can’t rate that high, so I think a five out of five,” Rickenbach said. “I’d love to see it again.”
Zeiszler wore a red and black outfit, which included a red blouse laced with bows in the front and a black skirt and shirt underneath. My favorite piece of Zeiszler’s outfit was her strawberry necklace because I think strawberries have a very Valentine’s Day vibe. When I think of strawberries on Valentine’s Day, I think of them covered in chocolate and in the hands of someone who deserves them.

Sunny Stout, ’26, in many people’s opinions, was a “showstopper.” Stout showed up to the campus center in an all-red and pink outfit, adorned with adorable red eyeshadow and makeup! From the candy heart earrings to the black heel boots with hearts on them, Stout was stunning in his Valentine’s Fit!
“Sunny’s outfit is fire,” Natalie Opauski, ’27, said. “I love all the pink — so festive, amazing.”
I’d have to agree. I think Stout takes the cake for “The Valentine’s Outfit” this year. I feel every aspect of Stout’s outfit was put together for a particular purpose. All of it felt so needed to really create the vision Stout was going for. My favorite parts of his outfit were the red trench coat and the pink mesh flower button-up shirt that he wore.
This Valentine’s Day was extra special for me because not only did I get to celebrate two days in a row — Friday with my tabling and Saturday as the actual holiday — but I also got to lavish in the holiday spirit with more people than I did last year, and I got to help spread the joy and love of Valentine’s Day.
