Marks looks ahead to final season

Q&A with Allegheny football’s running back

The Campus: What are your expectations and hopes for this upcoming football season?

Ben Marks, ’18: “I expect the team to be very competitive in every single game. I hope this is the first year that our record shows all the hard work the team has put in for the last two seasons. I hope the team culture changes Coach Hammer has brought to Allegheny show through.”

The Campus: When is your first game of the season?

Marks: “Our first home game is next Saturday, and it would be really cool to have a really good turn out by the students to help cheer us on and give us the energy.”

The Campus: Do you have any personal goals for this season?

Marks: “I personally hope to help the younger guys out and help get them going on the right track. By creating a closer relationship between freshman and upperclassmen the retention of our freshman should increase.”

The Campus: How do you feel as a senior football player, entering your final season?

Marks: “It’s bittersweet starting our senior year. Football is a very unique sport where it’s really the only sport once you are finished with college, unless you play professional, that you can never play again. The seniors only have 10 guaranteed opportunities left to strap up and to play the game we have all been playing for so long. I just hope that all of the seniors don’t leave anything left in the tank and go all out so that we can have a very memorable senior season.”
