Allegheny College is in the process of seeking a Title IX coordinator. Title IX was introduced as part of the Education Amendments of 1972 and has since been enforced at colleges across the nation. Title IX aims to protect against sex discrimination in education and states that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
