News Editor Anna Westbrook, ’26, will be the next editor-in-chief of The Campus, Allegheny’s student newspaper announced Friday.
Selected by a unanimous vote of Campus staff this past Monday, Sept. 16, Westbrook takes the position with two years’ experience writing for The Campus, including three semesters on staff editing the news section. Last year, they won three awards, including First Place and Honorable Mention at the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association’s Student Keystone Media Awards and First Place in the Student News Coverage category at the 60th Golden Quill Awards hosted by the Press Club of Pennsylvania.
Westbrook’s portfolio consists of stories ranging from year-long coverage of Allegheny’s Wi-Fi difficulties to stories focused on climate change and sustainability.
Westbrook is an Environmental Science & Sustainability Major and a Political Science Minor. They are also a Fellow in the Center for Political Participation, a resident advisor and the vice president of Pi Sigma Alpha.
When not working, they like to read, crochet, spend time outdoors with friends and drink a copious amount of coffee.
