Allegheny Journalism Conference – March 6-7, 2015

With this conference, we recognize women journalists and herald women’s voices. Top professional journalists will present their work and mentor students. For this storytelling experiment, we will focus on women in the Crawford County community, sharing their stories through photos and multimedia projects.

“Honoring Ida” is the third annual journalism conference at Allegheny College. In our bicentennial year, our focus will be on women journalists and the work of two outstanding women journalists — Ida Tarbell, Allegheny College Class of 1880, and Ida B. Wells-Barnett — as it relates to the theme of voting rights.
Our academic partner for the conference is Ohio University. Students and faculty from University of Mississippi and Penn State will also participate.
